Protecting the Red Sea – Recycling

Stellio Project visited the operational waste processing facility in Hurghada – Egypt. In collaboration with Green Tech Egypt, Stellio provided organizational and technical support to the facility operators. This increased the capacity of the plant by 30%.

The factory processes the waste from the tourist resorts in Hurghada. The city by the sea well known for its beautiful corals and enormous biodiversity. This makes Hurghada a tremendous popular diving destination. The local operator takes care of controlling ships at sea; and at the same time keeps waste away from the streets. This prevent waste ending up in the red sea with all its well known consequences. The waste is processed in Hurghada’s own processing plant with a capacity of 30 tonnes per hour. Want to know more?
